4/6-4/12:

It’s a massive week in Manta sports! We’ve seen everything from Senior Night celebrations to major showdowns at CoolToday Park.

Baseball: Senior Night and Stadium Showdowns

It was a week of extreme highs and heart breakers for the Varsity boys.

Friday night was Senior Night against Cypress Lake. The energy was incredible, and the Rays sent their seniors off in style with a dominant 9-1 victory.

The Stadium Stage: On Saturday, the boys got the big-league experience playing at CoolToday Park (spring training home of the Braves) against Charlotte. It was a classic pitcher’s duel, but the Rays unfortunately fell just short in a 1-0 defensive battle.

Next Up: They look to bounce back at home against Port Charlotte this Wednesday in the District Semi-Finals

Softball: High Scoring Drama

The Lady Mantas are officially one of the most exciting teams to watch in the region right now.

The Win: They pulled off a high-octane 11-7 win over Riverview Sarasota on Thursday. The bats are absolutely alive, and the team moved to a 10-6 record on the season.

The Battle: Earlier in the week, they dropped a tough one to Charlotte (6-13), but their bounce-back performance against Riverview shows this team’s resilience.

Rankings: The Rays are currently sitting at #21 in Florida Class 3A.

Beach Volleyball: Riding the Wave

Our sand specialists had a busy, and successful, week on the road!

After a tough 2-3 loss to Mariner on Tuesday, the girls locked in. They traveled to North Port on Wednesday and walked away with a gritty 3-2 win, then followed it up Thursday with a dominant 4-1 victory over Aubrey Rogers. This puts the team at 5-3 as they continue to climb the state rankings.

Track & Field: The “Last Chance” to Shine

Lemon Bay hosted the “Last Chance Meet” on April 7–8, and it was a record-breaking atmosphere.

Standout Performances: Hatley Turner took 1st in the 400m (59.43), while Nolan Davel led the pack in the 800m. Hurdle Mastery: Adrian Brenner continued his dominance in the 110m hurdles with a blazing 15.94.

The team is looking sharp as they prepare for the district championships!
