Coming up this week! 3/2 – 3/6

Now that we’ve got the introductions out of the way, let’s dive straight into the action. It’s a massive week for our spring athletes, and we’ve got plenty of chances to pack the stands. Here is what the schedule looks like for the first full week of March:

Baseball: Looking to Keep the Momentum

After back-to-back wins against LaBelle and Imagine, our Varsity Boys are finding their rhythm. They have a huge homestand coming up at the end of the week.

  • Thursday, March 5: Varsity vs. North Fort Myers @ 7:00 PM (Home)
  • Friday, March 6: Varsity vs. Port Charlotte @ 7:00 PM (Home)
    • JV Note: The JV squad also takes on North Port (Wednesday) and Port Charlotte (Friday).

Softball: The “Battle of the Bridge”

Our Lady Mantas have been on a scoring tear lately (who saw that 18-4 win over Port Charlotte?!). This week is all about defending home turf.

  • Wednesday, March 4: Varsity vs. Lakewood Ranch @ 3:45 PM (Home)
  • Friday, March 6: Varsity vs. Avon Park @ 4:00 PM (Home)

Track & Field: Speed and Strength

The team is coming off some strong performances at the Pirate Booty Invitational and is heading into a busy invitational stretch.

  • Friday, March 6: Select athletes will be heading to the 66th Annual Edison Relays and the Tarpon Classic. Keep an eye on our pole vaulters and javelin throwers, they’ve been putting up state-qualifying numbers early this season!

Weightlifting: Post-Season Push

  • Saturday, March 7: The Boys Weightlifting team is in action early! They’ll be hosting a meet right here in Englewood starting at 6:30 AM. If you want to see pure grit, come out and support the lifters.

Wrestling: States

  • Mat Magic: Manta Rays Secure Regional Runner-Up Finish, Five Punch Tickets to States
  • If you weren’t at the regional tournament this past weekend, you missed one of the most electric displays of grit in Lemon Bay wrestling history. Our Mantas headed into the lion’s den and came out as Regional Runners-Up, a massive achievement that speaks to the depth and discipline of this squad.
  • But the story doesn’t end with a team trophy. We are officially sending a “Fab Five” to the Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee this week to compete for individual state titles.
